INTEGRATIVE RELATIONAL COUNSELLOR & PSYCHOTHERAPIST

About me

I’m an Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist who has experience of providing support to individuals in both the private and third sector organizations such as Cardiff Women’s Aid, Cardiff Mind and Platform Wellbeing.

I currently work in both private practice and as a sessional counsellor for Cardiff Mind.

I’m a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgmental and welcoming space for all clients. I am an inclusive practitioner working with individuals of all genders over the age of 18+. I am bilingual and therefore I am also able to offer sessions in both English and Spanish.

My areas of speciality are working with adverse childhood experiences, abuse, narcissistic abuse, interpersonal trauma, domestic abuse and relationship breakdowns. I have experience in research in domestic abuse revictimisation.

I have a special interest in working with and understanding how our experiences in our relationships with others and with ourselves impacts our lives and our wellbeing. Whether that is family, friends, or intimate relationships.

As a result of the focus of my work being on relational experiences I am currently enhancing my professional development as a Trainee Clinical Sexologist and Relationship Therapist with the reputable Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology.

I will begin accepting individual clients for specialist Sex Therapy from June 2024 and Couples or Intimate partners in 2025. Please enquire if you would like to be put on my waiting list.

Integrative Relational Counselling & Psychotherapy is a modern and flexible approach to understanding mental health, our difficulties in life and how the therapeutic relationship can help with these and guide you through them. I place a great importance on creating a secure therapeutic relationship and stable base with my clients in order to understand your needs and therefore tailor the work to you and your preferences; and by integrating theory and techniques from different approaches. I like to work collaboratively with clients and my approach is mainly informed by psychodynamic, existential and person-centred therapy, although I also incorporate elements from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).

I am a Trauma-Informed therapist and understand the impact that trauma can have on building trust, emotional regulation and daily functioning. My background in psychology allows me to bring psychoeducation into our work to help you to understand what may be happening on a psychological and physiological level and how we can work with this to help you feel more in control of what you may be experiencing.

I have personal experience of living in several European countries and bring a richness of cultural awareness & diversity to my work. I’m a trained translator and bi-lingual from a young age therefore I am also able to offer psychotherapy in Spanish (Español - Castellano).
